Brief introduction of the procedures of the registration of the Domain Names of the Macao Region

 

Customers who plans to register domain names under the domains .mo, .com.mo, .net.mo, .org.mo, .edu.mo, .公司.mo, .網絡.mo, .組織.mo, .教育.mo, .澳門, .公司.澳門, .網絡.澳門, .組織.澳門 and .教育.澳門, please submit application according to the following procedures. (The application for the registration of other Macao domain names of the public entities of MSAR shall be submitted to the SAFP.)

Signup

At the upper right corner of the MONIC website, click on the tab “Signup”, read the signup regulation carefully and then click “Agree” to continue.

Fill the applicant information

Fill the applicant information in the related fields (“*” are required fields) and click “Signup” after finishing.

Notification of “.MO Registration Account Confirmation

Meanwhile, an email notification with subject “.MO Registration Account Confirmation” will be sent to the email address you registered. Click the link on the email notification to activate your account.

Notification of “Successful .MO Registration Account Creation”

An email notification with subject “Successful .MO Registration Account Creation” will be sent to you, which indicates your registration account has been created successfully and can be used for applying for the registration of the domain names of the Macao region.

Login user account

At the upper right corner of the MONIC website, click on the tab “Login”. (If you do not have a registration account, please refer to “Creation of Domain Name Registration Account” for more details.) (For domain names that have been registered before 15th November 2009, the username is the domain name. E.g. If your domain name is ABC.COM.MO, the username is also ABC.COM.MO, and the password is the same as the previous one. If you forgot your profile/username, kindly contact MONIC; and if you forgot your password, please refer to “Password Reset for Domain Name Registration Account”.)

Register domain names and check the availabilities of domain names

Select “Register Domain” from the pull down menu “Domain Management”. Enter the domain name you want to register. Check to see if the domain name can be registered.

Fill in the domain name registration information

If the domain name is available for applying for registration, please input the required information on the “Request Domain” page. If the information is submitted successfully, you are directed to the “Request Successful” page. To upload the required documents (within 1 year validity), please click the “Attachment” button. Click the “Done” button to save your domain name application information.

Submit the application documents

Submit the required documents for the domain name registration in paper or electronic form within 8 days. Please refer to “Required Documentary Proof for Domain Name Registration” for detailed information.

Notification of “Domain Name Application Received”

Next, an email notification with subject “Domain Name Application Received” will be sent to the email address you registered. The applicant must submit the required documents for the domain name registration application, signed Letter of Confirmation [ DOC | PDF ] and Authorization Letter (for authorizing third party to handle your domain name registration application) [ DOC | PDF ] with the identification copy of the signatory.

Notification of “Domain Name Application”

If the domain name registration application fulfills the related requirements of the Regulation, an email notification will be sent to the email address you registered to notify you for submitting the domain name registration fee. The registration fee for each domain name is MOP200 per year. For e-Payment, the “Paid” button on “My Register Requests” page will be activated to allow you to process the e-Payment (Please refer to “Guideline on e-Payment” for detailed information). For cash payment, please pay in person at our office. For cheque/bank draft, please prepare a cheque/bank draft payable to "Direcção dos Serviços de Correios e Telecomunicações" and submit it to our office.

Notification of “Domain Name Registration Approved”

If the domain name registration application is approved, an email notification with subject “Domain Name Registration Approved” is sent to the email address that you have registered.

If your domain name is ABC.COM.MO, the username is also ABC.COM.MO, and the password is the same as the previous one. Select the domain name for renewalAfter successful login, select “My Domain” from the pull down menu of “Domain Management”. Select the domain name to be renewed and click on the “Renew” button.

Submit online renewal applications

Domain name registration is valid for THREE years only (associated fees are charged on a yearly basis), and can be renewed to extend the validity for the same period. Input the “Challenging Code” and click on the “Submit” button to finish your online renewal application. When the online renewal application is submitted successfully, the page shows “Request Successful”.

Domain name renewal applications – payment

If you want to pay the renewal fee online, please click on the “Request e-Payment” button to enter the page “Apply for using the Electronic Payment Service”. After reviewed, a notification email with subject “Domain Name Renewal Waiting For e-Payment” will be sent to your registered email address. Meanwhile the “Paid” button on “My Renewal Requests” page will be activated to allow you to process the e-Payment (Please refer to “Guideline on e-Payment” for detailed information). If you prefer to pay by cash or cheque/bank draft, please click on the “Done” button after submitting the renewal application. For cheque/bank draft, please prepare a cheque/bank draft payable to "Direcção dos Serviços de Correios e Telecomunicações" and submit it to our office. The renewal fee for each domain name is MOP200.

Notification of “Domain Name Renewal Application Completed”

If your domain name renewal application is approved, an email notification with subject “Domain Name Renewal Application Completed” will be sent to the email address that you have registered.

Forget Password

At the upper right corner of the MONIC website, click on the tab “Login” and then click on the link “Forgot Password”.

Email Notification of “.MO Account Password Reset”

Fill in your “Profile/Username” and the “Challenge Code”, and click on the “request” button on the password reset page. Meanwhile, an email notification with subject “.MO Account Password Reset” will be sent to the email address that you have registered.

Activate email link and receive temporary password

Check your mailbox, and click the reset password link in the email. Then, recheck your mailbox, you can now use the “Password Reset Code” stated in another email to log on to the system. Note: The “Password Reset Code” will be valid only ONCE. Once you successfully logon the system, you require to set a new password and the password reset code will no longer be valid.

Notification of “Password Changed Notification”

Finally, an email notification with subject “Password Changed Notification” will be sent to your email address to confirm the password has been changed successfully.
